AB de Villiers gets the Family Support in Bengaluru: AB de Villiers stepped in to bat in Bengaluru to play his 100th test match. No doubt the occasion was a special one not only for the batting maestro but also for his family. AB’s parents, wife and his young son AB Jr. were all at the Chinnaswamy Stadium to witness the modern day master take the ground for the 100th time in test cricket.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be here and part of this special occasion. We are overwhelmed with the love AB is getting from the people in Bangalore. He deserves this love because I know he is a gem of person, a very good human being,” quoted his wife Danielle. Their son, who is fondly called as AB Jr. was wearing a white hat and a ‘AB 100’ test jersey to show his love for his dad.

AB de Villiers has always considered Bengaluru to be his second home for the love that he has always received every time he has played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. “Every time he returns home from Bengaluru after IPL, he talks a lot about the city and the people here. So this time he wanted us to come to Bengaluru and experience his fan following,” a happy mother of AB de Villiers quoted. His parents were absolutely delighted on the occasion and were happy that it was the city of Bengaluru that became the venue for their son’s 100th test match.

“It really makes us both humble. With the Bengaluru crowd chanting his name ‘ABD ABD’ makes me more emotional and it is a very special moment for us. Absolutely delightful that he is making his 100th Test appearance in Bengaluru which he calls his second home because he plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. I know the crowd here loves him,” his mother Millie added.

His father was also seen cheering him and said that AB had absolutely no pressure on him coming in to the game this morning. He quoted “We were all together last night and he looked calm as ever. He went to bed early.”

AB de Villiers did not disappoint his fans one bit and played a masterly innings of 85 runs before getting dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja. He scored 85 runs of 105 balls. His innings was embellished with 11 boundaries and a maximum.
