Royal Challengers Bangalore were challenged by back to back injuries of their star players. It all began with Virat Kohli’s shoulder injury that the Indian skipper picked up in Ranchi against Australia. Then emerged news of KL Rahul and AB de Villiers sustaining individual injuries. But it seems that an injury-stricken RCB is set for good news finally.
RCB lost their opening encounter of the season against the Sunrisers Hyderabad but bounced back strong against the Delhi Daredevils in the second game – guided by a brilliant knock by middle order specialist Kedar Jadhav.
But in their next game against The Kings XI Punjab in Indore, the team’s star player AB de Villiers may be seen making a comeback. In a video uploaded by RCB official website, the South African star talked about his selection in the next game.
“Boys showed a lot of guts against DD, and that’s what the team is all about. So I am looking forward to the rest of the tournament” he told of RCB’s thrilling win over DD.
“I am ready to go. Hopefully, I’ll be up for selection in the next one (game)”, he told of his fitness.
Earlier, in the post-match presentation ceremony after the win against Delhi, Sanjay Manjerakar asked Shane Watson about the comeback dates of AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli and the Aussie left the fans drooling with happiness when he said, “They will be back for the team’s next game.”
RCB is already looking in a good position without their main batsmen. Kedar Jadhav is in the form of his life, and Watson’s clever captaincy is also doing the trick for the team. And with the return of these two-star players, one can only expect the 2016 runners-up to pose more threat to the opposition.
