AB de Villiers reveals the idea to propose his wife for marriage at the Taj Mahal

Aakash Chopra once said, “I demand a DNA test of AB de Villiers. This game is only for humans.” Such is the talent possessed by this man. He is rightly called Mr.360 as he has all the shots in the books and is also more than handy fielder. There is probably nothing that AB cannot do on the field. He plays the game as the situation demands and will surely go down as one of the modern-day greats. The South African batsman can single-handedly take charge of the game and prove to be a nightmare for the opposition.

Apart from his on the field exploits, de Villiers is also known to be a humble man off the field. He shares a good relationship with the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and the duo get along very well.

De Villiers married his longtime girlfriend Danielle back in 2013. He proposed to Danielle at the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra. In an interaction on web series What the Duck, de Villiers has revealed the entire plan that he devised to propose to his wife.

Memories with the Taj

“About a couple of months leading up to the IPL, I was obviously planning, got the ring and all that, and I decided to do it there. And once I got to the IPL, I got “security guards”, who were actually photographing and videographers to film the whole thing. But I told Danielle that I have to travel with security guards, so that’s why they got to go with us.

And it ended up to be a great surprise and I got it all on camera.” said the RCB batsman. The proposal took Danielle by surprise as she had no clue about the plan. It was a very special moment for AB and he feels that he could not have done it at a more special place than the Taj Mahal.

On Thursday, de Villiers played a vital knock of 69 to keep the SRH bowlers at bay. His shot selections have impressed everyone and particularly Virat Kohli who keeps admiring the Proteas batsman for his ability to play fearless cricket. AB also stated that he felt Taj should be a good name in case his father to a baby boy!
