Abdul Qadir's son Usman Qadir will feature for Australia PM XI against South Africa

South Africa is all set to tour Australia for three One-Day Internationals and a solitary T20I. They will also play a One-Day warm-up game before the start of the series against Australia Prime Minister’s XI on October 31. Interestingly, the former Pakistan great Abdul Qadir‘s son, Usman Qadir who is also a leg-spinner, will play in this encounter.

He moved to Australia in 2016 and is hoping to claim its citizenship in 2020 ahead of the ICC World T20 in the same country. Usman, 25, will be keen on cementing his place in the national team in the shortest format with stunning performances in the domestic circuit. He featured for Western Australia in the recently concluded JLT One-Day Cup and scalped six wickets in four appearances for his team.

He will be hoping to impress the selectors with a terrific performance against the Proteas who will try to go hard against him as there won’t be much help to the spinners.

George Bailey to lead the side

George Bailey is set to lead Australia PM XI in the warm-up game against South Africa. The team is a perfect blend of the budding youngsters and a few international players who have played for Australia before. The former Test opener Chris Rogers is also the part of the side and he will bat at the top-order.

The ODI series between Australia and South Africa will commence on November 4 in Perth after which the action moves to Adelaide Oval (November 9) and Bellerive Oval in Hobart (November 11). The solitary T20 International will take place at Carrara Oval in Queensland on November 17.

The visitors are already hamstrung with the injuries to Hashim Amla and JP Duminy but they will hope for the others to step up and make the difference to the team. Their confidence is also on a high after putting up a decent show against Zimbabwe back home.
