Abdul Razzaq on the road to recovery after being infected with Covid-19

Abdul Razzaq stated that he is much better but is still feeling a sense of weakness.

Former Pakistan cricketing great Abdul Razzaq is on the road to recovery after testing positive for Covid-19. Razzaq, who is currently the Head Coach of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has now tested negative for Covid-19 and is in isolation now.

Razzaq stated that he is much better but is still feeling a sense of weakness. He added that the doctors have asked him to rest for a few more days and then only will he be completely alright.

Razzaq further requested all the citizens of Pakistan to follow all the Covid-19 protocols and wear their masks to prevent the spread of the virus.

“I’m feeling better now but there is still a significant amount of weakness. Doctors have said that I need to rest for a few more days, in order to fully recover,” said Razzaq as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Abdul Razzaq represented Pakistan for more than a decade

In a career spanning almost a decade and a half, Abdul Razzaq represented Pakistan in 46 Tests, 265 ODIs, and 32 T20Is. The right-handed batsman scored 1946 runs in Test match cricket and scored his runs at an average of 28.20. With the ball, the right-arm medium pacer scalped exactly 100 wickets in the whites.

But then, it was in ODI cricket that Razzaq had a significant impact for the Pakistan side. He represented the Pakistan side in as many as 265 ODI matches and scored 5080 runs at an average of 29.71 and a strike rate of 81.25. With the ball, Razzaq scalped a colossal 269 wickets at an average of 31.84.

The all-rounder also represented Pakistan in 32 T20Is as well. While he scored 393 runs with the bat, he scalped 20 wickets with the ball as well. The 41-year-old played his last match for Pakistan in the year 2013 against South Africa at Dubai in a T20I encounter.

In his final appearance in international cricket, Razzaq could not set the stage on fire. While he gave away 14 runs in the only over that he bowled, he also scored a first-ball duck with the bat. South Africa beat Pakistan by 6 runs in Razzaq’s final international outing.
