Karnataka fast bowler Abhimanyu Mithun has tied the knot with his girlfriend Rayane on Sunday, August 28. The wedding was held in Mahabalipuram as per Hindu customs.

The special event was a grand affair which was attended by many prominent names from the entertainment and political fraternity. Some of the popular celebrities who attended the function were renowned director Bharatiraja and actors Prabhu, Chiranjeevi, and Vikram.

His wife Rayane is the daughter of popular South Indian actors Radhika and Sarath Kumar. Both are believed to have met during the Indian Premier League. The graduate from Leeds, England, currently looks after her mother’s production house. The couple had got engaged in a family ceremony last September.

Abhimanyu Mithun has been Karnataka’s premier fast bowler in domestic cricket and also represents Indian Premier League side Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mithun has also played 4 Tests and 5 ODIs after making his debut for India in 2010. Incidentally, the right arm fast bowler did not start out as a cricketer and was striving to make a mark in athletics as a Discus thrower.

However, soon, he made a career change and opted for cricket. The decision proved to be worthy to him. A successful Ranji stint with Karnataka in 2009/10 saw his career more to the next level. He made his way into the national team after being selected for the tour of South Africa. However, he could not cement his place in the team and was used as a replacement option by the selectors.
