Afghanistan players ready to try their luck in the upcoming IPL auction

Afghanistan players are making a name for themselves. Since attaining the Test status, their best players have traveled all over the world. The fact that they are not only traveling, but are busy impressing each and everyone around them is in itself amazing to say the least. Afghanistan cricket has come a long way without a doubt. A country which is fighting terrorism, sports is one of the few positives to take away in the grand scheme of things.

That said, the Indian Premier League Auction 2018 is on its way and there are a total of ten Afghanistan players who will go under the hammer. There are players in that list who have already tasted the IPL nights and clashes. The likes of Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan were picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last year’s auction.

Rashid Khan went on to take seventeen wickets in the fourteen games that he played while bagging the ICC Associate cricketer of the year award with it. Mohammad Nabi on the other hand, featured in just three games for the Hyderabad based franchise. The two superstars of Afghanistan cricket are currently plying their trade in the Big Bash League. Mohammad Nabi is playing for Melbourne Renegades while Rashid Khan for Adelaide Strikers.

Rashid Khan is busy taking wickets with his mystery ball in the Big Bash League. However, the youngster has not only played in BBL but also in many other leagues in the world. We have seen the man from Afghanistan take part in Caribbean Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League and also in Pakistan Super League.

Apart from Rashid and Nabi, there are many other Afghanistan players on the list. There are the likes of Dawlat Zadran, Shapoor Zadran and also Mohammad Shahzad, who is returning from a drug ban. Mujeeb Zadran, another Afghan mystery spinner is also on the list.

Mujeeb Zadran – The player to watch out for

Rashid Khan made headlines a few years ago when he first came in the picture as a teenage sensation who could weave magic with the ball similar to a certain Shane Warne. It is another sensation from Afghanistan that might just get a contract in the cash-rich Indian Premier League. Mujeeb Zadran, a 16-year-old, turned a lot of heads in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League. He played for Comilla Victorians.

The young one replaced Rashid Khan halfway in the tournament. The Victorians were surprised to see the talent that was on offer. He became one of the most discussed cricketers in the league. It will be interesting to see if he is picked up by any of the team in the upcoming auction.

The price tags

Rashid Khan tops the list with his base price set at Rs 2 crore. Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Zadran sit with a base price of Rs 50 lakh each. The only player with a base price of Rs 20 lakh is Zahir Khan, rest all have set their base price on Rs 50 lakh.
