The Indian captain Virat Kohli, whether he is playing or not, is always in the news. The leaked CCTV footage of him reportedly insuring his beard had created a lot of buzz and his move was also trending on social media. Even the cricketers like KL Rahul, Umesh Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal tweeted about the same which almost confirmed the news. However, Kohli himself has come out with a clarification regarding his beard insurance.

In the footage that was leaked, the 29-year-old was seen signing certain papers even as a couple of people clicked pictures of his beard very closely. Moreover, the tweet of KL Rahul of how Kohli is obsessed with his beard fuelled in the rumours even more. To add to the suspense, Kohli made fun of his teammates on Saturday by tweeting about the same saying that he was enjoying all the attention.

Here’s the truth

Virat Kohli is not insuring his well-shaped beard but has endorsed the new trimmer of Phillips as the company released the new advertisement and cleared the air completely. Leaking the CCTV footage might have been the part of the promotion as well as it created the anxiety among the Indian fans and they were eagerly waiting for the statement from the skipper.

In the video released on June 9 by Phillips, it could be seen that Virat is in a press conference and is talking about all the excitement around his beard. “In the past couple of days, a lot has been said about my beard. Suddenly the nation wants to know everything – so why not hear it from me?” he said while revealing that it is the trimmer which he is endorsing which he will use to shape his beard.

Well, the Indian captain has once again surprised everyone once again with his new move and no wonder Phillips has used his brand value perfectly to create a buzz.
