Hardik Pandya, the Indian all-rounder in the last two years has become an essential part of the team. He came into the spotlight after his bang on performance against Pakistan in Champions Trophy 2017. He played a blistering knock of 76 runs in 43 deliveries but ended on a losing side. He is a hard-hitting batsman that has always outplayed the rival’s intense situations of the match.

However, Hardik Pandya has always been struggling with a back problem, and it looks like he will not be available for the Bangladesh series as well. After Jasprit Bumrah, who was stuck with a stress fracture because of which he is not featuring in the Test series against Proteas, Hardik Pandya is another player who has followed his Mumbai Indians fellow teammate’s footsteps.

Hardik Pandya is not part of Vijay Hazare Trophy as well

As per the reports, Hardik Pandya will soon fly to the UK  for a checkup to the doctor who treated him before the Asia Cup and there are no clear views over when the all-rounder from Baroda will be back in action. He is also not the part of the Baroda team in Vijay Hazare Trophy led by his brother Krunal Pandya.

“Hardik is also set to go the United Kingdom to consult the same doctor, who had treated him during the first injury post Asia Cup. He is certainly not playing the Bangladesh series but how long he will be out is still not clear. We will know after he comes back from the United Kingdom,” a senior BCCI official said as quoted by Times of India.

BCCI is preferring Pandya to visit the UK instead of Germany, and it looks like Pandya has to undergo back surgery which can sideline him from cricket for over 5 months. If he goes through a surgery then it can be a piece of bad news for Team India as they are undergoing the preparations of the T20 World Cup which is scheduled next year in Australia in 2020.

Earlier, the chief selector MSK Prasad had expressed his views over Hardik Pandya’s role in the upcoming T20 World Cup, according to which the management wants to use him more in red-ball cricket. The young all-rounder has featured in 11 Tests, 54 ODIs and 40 T20Is for India and has more than 1500 international runs and more than 100 wickets across all the formats.
