With India having beaten three big teams in the World Cup and sitting pretty with seven points from four matches, captain Virat Kohli can take some relaxed moments in his stride. The Indian captain was joined by her wife Anushka Sharma ahead of the next fixture which is against Afghanistan in Southampton on June 22. Earlier this week, the power couple was spotted in London with a Kohli fan page posting about the duo’s outing on social media.

Anushka is often seen accompanying her husband on foreign tours. Last year, they spent their first marriage anniversary in Australia after India won the first Test match in Adelaide. She was also there with Kohli when the Australian prime minister had hosted the Indian squad at his residence in Sydney in early January. The actress though was not there in England to see her husband leading India to a memorable win over arch-rivals Pakistan at Old Trafford last Sunday, thanks to the BCCI’s WAG rules.

Dhawan, Rohit also accompanied with families

Besides Kohli, other top members of the squad were also seen being accompanied by their partners. Shikhar Dhawan, who has been eventually ruled out of the tournament with a fractured thumb, also posted an image on Instagram of him and wife Aesha on a train along with Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh. The batting superstars also had their kids with them. Dhawan captioned the photo: “Enjoying the local train journey with the Sharma family”.

The Indian board had not allowed the wives and family members to travel with their cricketer partners for the first three weeks of the ongoing World Cup that featured India’s much-anticipated clash with Pakistan. However, it seems now that with India doing good so far, the board has allowed the family members to travel with the cricketers.

India have so far beaten South Africa by 6 wickets; Australia by 36 runs and Pakistan by 89 runs in the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern Method while their game against New Zealand was washed out. After Afghanistan, India plays the West Indies (June 27), England (June 30), Bangladesh (July 2) and Sri Lanka (July 6) before the semi-finals begin.
