In a surprise dope test conducted by the PCB a few months ago, Pakistani cricketer Ahmad Shahzad was tested positive for consuming a banned drug. The cricketer was provisionally suspended back then. But with the chemical reports out now, the PCB has banned him for four months which will end on November 10, 2018, as it was backtracked to July 10, 2018, when the incident took place.

Shahzad has come out in public for the first time after the verdict and issued a statement. On his official Twitter handle, the 26-year-old wrote that he has accepted the sanctions imposed on him by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday.

Shahzad hopes that this will be a lesson for all

Ahmed Shahzad also wrote that he should have refrained from using the medicine being an experienced campaigner. He said that he is committed to returning to international cricket as soon as his ban is over. The batsman wrote the date, i.e, November 11, 2018, which will mark his comeback.

“My doping case verdict is acceptable to me. I accept the sanction handed out by PCB. I inadvertently consumed a medicine which as an experienced cricketer I should have refrained from. I am fully committed to returning to cricket as soon as my ban is over (November 11, 2018.),” he wrote in his first tweet.

Further, he put up another tweet soon and hoped that this is a lesson for him personally. Also, he wished his teammates will draw a leaf out of the incident and not repeat such mistakes. He asked the fans to remember him in their prayers.

“This is a lesson for me personally as well as my fellow cricketers and I hope to make a strong comeback from here. Remember me in your prayers,” he concluded.
