Ajinkya Rahane, the Indian cricketer is currently the part of Team India in the longest format and is playing the first Test of a three-match series in Vishakhapatnam. Rahane has been handling the responsibility of vice-captain in Tests. 31-year-old made got his first national call up for the England tour of India in 2011 in the limited-overs format.
He played a vibrant knock in his first international appearance and went onto score 61 runs in 39 deliveries against England in the only T20I on that tour. After a couple of years, he got to struggle to find his spot in limited-overs as his last appearance in ODI came in 2018 against South Africa, since then he has not been picked up by the selectors. A sudden dip in his form and inconsistency has led him out of the team, but there has been good news for the vice-admiral of Virat Kohli in Tests.
Good news for Ajinkya Rahane during the 1st Test against South Africa
Earlier in July this year, Ajinkya Rahane and his wife Radhika updated the news of pregnancy as they both shared a few pictures on Instagram. Last month, Rahane’s wife ahead of her due date posted a picture of her flaunting with a baby bump, but now it is confirmed that the vice-captain in Tests has become a father after his wife gave birth to a cute daughter.
After this news was confirmed, the cricketing fraternity and Twitter exploded with wishes and congratulated the Indian cricketer after he got a new member added in his family. Harbhajan Singh, who earlier was the teammate of Rahane took Twitter to wish his mate and wrote, “Congratulations new daddy in town @ajinkyarahane88 hope Mum and lil princess are doing well.. the fun part of life starts now ajju. #fatherhood.”

Rahane has played in 58 Tests, 90 ODIs and 20 T20Is where he got more than 6,000 international runs across all the formats. The top-order batsman from Maharashtra is a regular face of Rajasthan Royals in IPL. Earlier he has played for Mumbai Indians, Rising Pune Supergiants in the cash-rich T20 league in India.
