The India Women is scheduled to take on the Australian team for challenging series. The two teams will play 3 ODIs starting tomorrow at the Reliance Stadium in Baroda. They are high on confidence having beaten the South Africans in the ODI as well as T20I series on the away tour and will want to capitalize on the same. Ahead of the series, Amitabh Bachchan posted a tweet for the Women in Blue but that wasn’t what one would expect.
The Bollywood legend we all know is a huge fan of the sport and never fails to watch a match that involved the Indian team. But it didn’t go as plan for him this time as he congratulated them for a “historic series win against Australia”. It was an error since he intended to talk about the recently concluded South Africa tour and mixed it up. His fans were quick to correct Sr Bachchan who also realized it and replied back regretting the blunder.
His initial tweet read – “YEEEAAHHH !! CONGRATULATIONS Indian Women’s Cricket Team Historic Series win against Australia in T20 and ODI games .. terrific character, batting and fielding .. that catch by Jemimah on the boundary, OUTSTANDING !! you make us PROUD Indians ..”

Fans humbly attempted to tell Big B that he’d made a mistake. Some saw the funny side and suggested he has predicted the future.
This happened a few weeks back, we defeated South Africa. Australia Series is at home and yet to begun.

I never thought I would feel sad reading these words. This tweet reflects the lack of awareness around women’s cricket. India won the series against South Africa earlier this year. The series against Australia begins tomorrow. Sir, I hope your words come true.

The Women in Blue led by Mithali Raj have a busy summer as they will host Australia and England for a T20 tri-series after this series. Following the triangular contest, they will face England in a three-match ODI series also at home. It is a great opportunity for Team India to beat the two big teams and win more prominence as well as fans since they’re playing at home.
