India’s young batter Jemimah Rodrigues was struggling with a rough patch in her career lately before her sizzling form in The Hundred has stunned all. ECB’s new 100-ball format game The Hundred is seeing Rodrigues playing for Northern Superchargers in the tournament. In her team’s last match against Trent Rockets, she again owned the game and scored 60 runs off 41 deliveries striking at 146.34.

In the same line of events, former English skipper and commentator Michael Vaughan is in complete awe of India’s young sensation Rodrigues. Vaughan took to his Twitter to praise the lady with the class and added, “Another high-class player @Jemimah Rodrigues.”

Talking about her last game, Northern Superchargers after winning the toss took the field to bat first against the Rockets. Rodrigues opened the side with Lauren Winfield Hill and built a sturdy partnership of 64 runs for the first wicket and then went on to smash a classy half-century including ten boundaries. Owing to her brilliance, her team set the target of 150 runs and won the match by a comfortable margin of 27 runs.

“When you are timing the ball well, make the most of it. I learned that while I was sitting out so just trying to extend the form. In the last game, I didn’t get many balls in the powerplay, today I wasn’t timing it initially,” said Rodrigues after the game.

Talking about her another game that left people talking came against Welsh Fire on 24th July when she turned up as a lone fighter for her team. Her batting had class written all over it as she played a valiant knock of 92* off 43 to chase down 131. The knock included 17 boundaries and six and currently, she is the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 152 runs in two games.

After this performance, former English star Kevin Pietersen tweeted for her and added she is now his favourite player. She has made her comeback a star-studded affair after struggling with the rough patch in her career.
