Union Home Minister Amit Shah rubbed more salt on Pakistan’s wounds by posting a tweet after India’s thumping win over the arch-rivals in the World Cup on Sunday. Team India beat Pakistan by 89 runs via DLS method to continue their unbeaten start to the World Cup. The Men in Blue are now second on the points table with 7 points from 4 games. Barring the toss, almost everything went India’s way.

Asked to bat first, India were off to a solid start. In-form opener Rohit Sharma looked in good form right from the start and was well-supported by KL Rahul. The two laid the foundation for the huge total by adding 136 runs for the opening wicket as India piled up 336 for 5. Rahul was the first to go after scoring 57. Rohit, on the other hand, made the most of the start by slamming a sublime knock of 140. Skipper Virat Kohli also continued his fine run by scoring 77.

In reply, Pakistan failed to even get close to the total let alone chasing it down. The Men in Green collapsed to 166-6 before a rain delay saw their target revised to another 136 runs required from 30 balls – a near-impossible task. They eventually finished on 212 for 6 to suffer their seventh consecutive defeat against India in the World Cup. With the latest defeat, Pakistan continue to remain winless against India in the World Cup.

Pakistan are now in danger of getting eliminated from the World Cup at the group stage. With only three points from 5 games, they need to win all of their remaining four games and pray that the other results go their way too.

Amit Shah delighted:

Following the game, Amit Shah did not take long to express his happiness. He took to Twitter to react to the much-hyped match and called it India’s yet “another strike on Pakistan”. The honourable minister went on to state that every Indian is proud of the impressive win.

“Another strike on Pakistan by #TeamIndia and the result is same. Congratulations to the entire team for this superb performance. Every Indian is feeling proud and celebrating this impressive win. #INDvPAK,” Amit Shah tweeted.
