Whatever Cristiano Ronaldo does has far-reaching implications. The football star is the most popular athlete on the planet and has a whopping following of 301 Million on Instagram alone.

And, in a press conference during the Euro 2020 tournament, Ronaldo picked up two Coke bottles in front of him and placed it away from the camera. He also gestured that people should drink water instead. And, this led to Coca-Cola suffering a loss of around $4 Billion.

And now, Indian fielding coach R Sridhar has mimicked Ronaldo’s gesture. In the press conference after the first day’s play, he asked whether there was any Coca-Cola bottle to be removed.

R Sridhar hints that India will not change their playing XI for WTC Final

The Indian side had already announced their playing XI but incessant rains meant that not a single ball was bowled on Day 1. And, the Indian side has the option of changing their playing XI before the toss. India has named two spinning all-rounders in Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in their playing XI for the summit clash of the World Test Championship (WTC) against the Kiwis.

In the press conference, Sridhar stated that there might not be any change in the Indian playing XI for the WTC Final against New Zealand. Sridhar also stressed that this Indian playing XI is one that can play in any condition. However, the fielding coach was quick to add that a decision regarding the playing XI will be taken before the toss.

“The eleven that has been announced is eleven that takes conditions out of the equation. I think it’s the eleven which can play and perform on any given surface and any given weather conditions. Having said that, the toss is not yet over. So, if needed, a decision will be taken at the time of toss,” said Sridhar in the press conference.

New Zealand will enter the WTC Final with a lot of confidence after thrashing the England side 1-0 in a short two-match Test series before the WTC Final. India, on the other hand, last played a Test match way back in March 2021.
