New Zealand cricketer James Neesham is quite active on social media. Recently, the cricketer hosted a question and answer session for his fans and followers on his official Twitter handle. During the session, the all-rounder answered a variety of questions related to both his personal and professional life.

James is one of the few cricketers from his nation who would be playing in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League which will kick-start from September 19, with the final to take place on November 10. The cash-rich tournament will be played in the September-November window in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Neesham would be representing the IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) who bought him for a meagre amount of Rs. 50 lakhs. He will play under the leadership of KL Rahul and join the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Sheldon Cottrell, Mohammed Shami, Chris Jordan, Mandeep Singh, and other top-notch players.

A fan asked James Neesham his thoughts over his IPL 2020 base price

During the Q&A session, a fan asked him about his thoughts on being bought at the base price of just 50 lakhs. The fan questioned, “@JimmyNeesh Your thought on being bought at 50Lacks base price at IPL 2020 Auction.”

To this, the Auckland-born star took a dig saying that only a fool will be disappointed after being offered the sum of INR 50 lakhs for playing a game for two months. Neesham tweeted, “Anybody who’s disappointed at 50 Lakhs to play a game for 2 months needs their head checked Man shrugging”

Notably, James is the only New Zealand player to have been sold in the IPL 2020 auction. While the other five New Zealand players who are set to play in the Indian league are Lockie Ferguson, Mitchell McClenaghan, Trent Boult, Kane Williamson and Mitchell Santner.

The all-rounder has been away from the match field for over five months now. The last the cricketer played a cricket match was during the New Zealand tour of Australia. New Zealand had toured Australia for a three-match ODI series in March this year. However, the authorities had to suspend the series after just one match in which the Kangaroos outshined the Kiwis by 71 runs.
