Arjun Tendulkar, the son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, has named his favourite women’s cricket. The youngster conducted a Question and Answer session on his official Instagram handle where he put forth the revelation. As far as the player was concerned, it was Danielle Wyatt, England’s ace top-order batswoman. Interestingly, Arjun had met Wyatt before in 2018.
During his England break in 2018, Arjun had lunch with Wyatt at Nandos. During the senior team’s tour that year, Arjun was seen, working as a groundsmen for a brief while. It was then that Wyatt trolled him. Going by the interactions, Arjun and Wyatt seem to share a healthy camaraderie. Hence, it isn’t much of a surprise that the 20-year-old Arjun took the swashbuckling batter’s name.

Back in 2018, Arjun played for the India U19 in the Youth Tests against Sri Lanka. However, he didn’t get to play in the 2020 U19 World Cup in South Africa where India lost to Bangladesh in the final. He went on to ply his trade in the second edition of the Mumbai T20 League at the Wankhede Stadium. But from there on, the Young Turk hasn’t gotten to play a significant amount of cricket.
Wyatt’s career for England
Wyatt, on the other hand, has been an indispensable member of the national team. The 28-year-old already has a couple of T20I centuries to her name, showing her expertise to shine at the highest level. In 109 T20Is, the batter has 1,588 runs at an average of 20.10 with two centuries and seven half-centuries. His top score of 124 came against India in March 2018 at Mumbai.
Recently, she was a part of Heather Knight’s England in the Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. But she could only muster 47 runs at a rather terrible average of 11.75. His top score of 29 was against the West Indies Women in Sydney. Even in ODIs, she has done reasonably well.
In 74 games, she has scored 1,028 runs at an average of 19.76 with a ton and fifty to show for her efforts. Last year, Wyatt was the part of the Mithali Raj-led Velocity in the Women’s T20 Challenge in India that happened simultaneously with the Indian Premier League (IPL).
