Team Australia are well on cruise to regain the Ashes from their rivals. In the third Test of the series, they are on course to register a clinical win as the final day’s play is underway. One of the key architects of their stellar run of form in the series has been their premier speedster, Mitchell Starc. Starc has been bowling exceptionally well this series and has provided the early breakthroughs for his side on most occasions.

However, as the final day’s play of the third Test was about to get underway, the Aussies received a worrying news about their star bowler. Mitchell Starc has reportedly bruised his heel during the course of the third Test. This, in all likelihood, could mean trouble for him before the fourth Test.

The Australian team head coach, Darren Lehmann, recently spoke to the official broadcasters about the same. He noted that the injury is not too bad, but is sore. The team management will see how to take things forward from here.

“Not too bad, a bit sore. We’ll just have to wait for the end of the game and assess him. I thought he bowled unbelievable well last night, got the ball reversing to get that wicket of Vince, so we’ll see how he goes,” quoted Darren Lehmann.

Boxing Day Test Ahead

The fourth Test of the series will be played at Melbourne and it will commence on the Boxing Day. Mitchell Starc would be itching to be a part of the game. He has been in a fiery form and had recently bowled the ball of the year to dismiss James Vince in the Perth Test. However, if Australia wins the series at Perth, they could potentially rest Starc to to give ace bowler some extra time to regain full fitness.
