Sunrisers Hyderabad middle-order batsman Eoin Morgan admitted that the team missed the services of Ashish Nehra, their senior-most bowler in the side against the Delhi Daredevils. Sunrisers Hyderabad succumbed to a critical defeat against the Delhi Daredevils at Raipur last night, following which, the team now has to win its last match against Kolkata Knight Riders in a bid to qualify for the playoffs.
Eoin Morgan was quick to admit that the Sunrisers definitely missed their chances in the match and could have held on to the crucial moments to avoid the result. ”Yes we had chances… I mean the tough lesson learned,” he said.
In the post-match conference, he spoke on the absence of Ashish Nehra and accepted the fact that the bowling unit surely missed his services. However, he credited Barinder Sran for putting up a decent performance. Nehra had a hamstring injury in the match against the Kings XI Punjab, following which he was ruled out of action for 4 months.

”Obviously it was a big blow missing Ashish. He was injured after the first game of Bangalore. So [Barinder] Sran came in then and did really well. It was a quite easy transition for him. Today he took wickets for us.. so whole credit to him,” quoted the English skipper.
Speaking on David Warner’s captaincy, Morgan said he would not rather compare it with his style of captaincy but lauded Warner as a good skipper. “Every individual has his own unique way of leading and David is a little bit different to mine. But David works, certainly I believe in, mine works. So simple, to do what you believe in and what is your strength…”
Lastly, he also hinted that 160 looked like a par score to them at the midway stage. “Probably 160 was a par score. I think we did finish well. We have plenty of power hitters, if you look at the middle order Henriques, Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) and myself right down,” he concluded.
