Pakistan will be up against Bangladesh in the final match of the Super-4s with both the teams aiming to join India in the final of the tournament. Pakistan were depleted by India twice in the tournament but a close win over Afghanistan kept their chances of a 3rd face-off against the arch-rivals alive. Bangladesh, on the other hand, sneaked in a 3-run win against the Afghans out of nowhere after being thrashed twice in two days by Afghanistan and India.

All the key stats and numbers ahead of the virtual semi-final game between Pakistan and Bangladesh:

3 – Bangladesh won their last three ODI matches against Pakistan. The two sides faced off in the 3-match series in 2015 in Bangladesh which the hosts won it 3-0.


1-11 – Bangladesh’s win-loss record in ODI format since 2014 without Tamim Iqbal in the playing XI. Their 3-run win over Afghanistan was their first since 2014 without him.


6-2 – Bangladesh’s win-loss record in ODI format while batting first in 2018. They won all the six games where they posted 200+ and lost both the matches in which they were bowled out under 200 this year while batting first.


16-0 – Pakistan’s win-loss record in the Asia Cup against the teams other than India and Sri Lanka. They played 12 games against Bangladesh, three against Hong Kong and two against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup thus far winning all of them.


25.08 – Shoaib Malik averages only 25.08 in the ODI format against Bangladesh. He has scored 301 runs in 13 innings against them with only one fifty.


35.4 – Number of overs Mohammad Amir has bowled without taking a wicket in the ODI format. He went wicketless in each of his last five ODI games.


40.75 – Shakib Al Hasan’s batting average in ODI format against Pakistan. He scored 489 runs in 14 innings against them with a century and three fifties. Shakib also claimed 21 wickets in 15 ODI matches against Pakistan at an average 30.61.


249 – Number of wickets Mashrafe Mortaza has taken in his ODI career thus far. He needs one more wicket to become the first Bangladesh player to take 250 ODI wickets. Shakib Al Hasan is also six wickets away from the same milestone.
