India continued their winning run in the Asia Cup T20 finals as they trashed the hosts Bangladesh by 8 wickets at Mirpur, Dhaka in a rain effect affair. Due to a storm just before scheduled time of the game, the match was delayed by 2 hours. At a point of time, the floodlight at the stadium also went off due to power failure. However, everything got right once rain stopped and the match started after been reduced to 15-overs each side game.

After been put into bat, Bangladesh managed to score 120 thanks to a blitz from Mahmudullah. Despite losing Rohit early, India got going with a big stand between Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli. Dhawan scored 60 while Kohli remained unbeaten on 41. MS Dhoni finished off the match in his signature style. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during the game.

0 – Mashrafe Mortaza became only the 2nd captain to be dismissed for a duck in a T20I final. William Porterfield got out for a duck in 2012 WT20 qualifiers final. Interestingly, both got out on 1st ball itself.

1 – For the first time, both Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli were a part of a winning side in a T20 tournament final.

2 – Number of Asia Cups India has won under MS Dhoni. He now became the 3rd captain to lead his team to 2 Asia Cups. Mohammad Azharuddin and Mahela Jayawardene are other two.

3 – Number of times MS Dhoni has hit winning runs in form of six in T20Is. He has done the same on 9 occasions in ODIs.

4 – Number of times Mashrafe Mortaza got out on a duck as captain in T20Is, the joint most times for a captain in this format.

5 – Number of tournaments India won which started with India-Bangladesh out of the 6 such tournaments. The other tournament was shared between India and South Africa as the final got washed out.

6 – Number of Asia cup Championships India has won, the most by any team. Sri Lanka has won Asia Cup on 5 occasions.

7 – This was the 2nd instance in T20Is where India won 7 consecutive matches in this format.

8 – For the 8th consecutive time, Ashish Nehra now has picked up at least one wicket in powerplay overs in a T20I.

8 – Number of consecutive T20I matches India has won outside home. They now equaled Sri Lanka’s 8-match streak in T20Is outside home.

12 – MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Yuvraj Singh are now in a 12-men list of players who have been a part of the T20I tournament winning side on two different occasions.

27 – Number of tournament finals India has won in international cricket. Only Australia (56) and Sri Lanka (30) have won more.

50 – Number of T20Is matches Mushfiqur Rahim has played so far. He became 1st Bangladeshi to feature in 50 T20Is.

60 – Shikhar Dhawan’s 60 is now his highest T20I score. Previous best was 51 vs Sri Lanka at Ranchi in February 2016.

100 – Virat Kohli has an average of 100 in successful run chases in T20Is, the highest for any player who has scored 300 runs in successful run chases.

253.85 – Mahmudullah’s strike rate during his innings. This is the 2nd highest strike rate for a Bangladeshi player in a T20I innings. (Min: 10 balls)

300 – Number of sixes MS Dhoni has hit in international cricket. He became the 5th player and 1st Indian to hit 300 sixes in international cricket.

1300 – Number of boundary fours MS Dhoni has hit in international cricket.
