To announce the resumption of the second leg of the tournament, lead broadcasters Star Sports launched an ad to attract viewers. The ad saw one Indian international from each of the eight franchises. Star Sports have been previously credited for running several fantastic ad campaigns for the IPL as well as other international cricket events.

This new ad was shared by the official Twitter handle of Star Sports. Sharma appeared first saying that people disappear as soon as he comes to open the innings. Rishabh Pant, the skipper of Delhi Capitals was then seen, as Rohit reminded him of Mumbai’s five IPL trophies. Pant replied back saying that his team is currently placed on the top of the table.

Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, then joined in reminding Pant and Rohit that the tournament isn’t over yet saying an iconic Bollywood dialogue, ‘Picture abhi baki hai,’ which translates to ‘the movie isn’t finished yet.’

Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Sunrisers Hyderabad was seen pulling the leg of Shubman Gill, who was the representative of Kolkata Knight Riders. Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul and Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson was also seen briefly in the commercial. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Indian team captain Virat Kohli was also seen in the ad later.

The ad finished with Rohit saying that the first half was just a sneak peek into what is supposed to come. Kohli then finished the sentence by saying, “second half mein picture abhi baki hai,” which means that the picture is left in the second half of the tournament.
