'Assam is in India just like any other state' - Riyan Parag not happy with a racist comment directed at an Assamese girl in a dance show

The comments made by Raghav Juyal, who is the host of the show, Dance Deewane 3, has caught the attention of social media. In the show, Juyal is seen introducing a small kid, Gujan Singh from Assam as a Chinese girl.

Apart from that, Juyal even made references to Chinese dishes like Momo and Chowmein as well. And, several netizens were not happy with the way Juyal introduced the small kid from Assam.

In fact, this is what Juyal told while introducing the girl. “Introducing the little girl whose Chinese may not be indecipherable but her dance is understood by everyone…she is Gunjan Singh from Assam,” said Juyal.

And, cricketer Riyan Parag, who hails from Assam is not happy with the comments made by Raghav Juyal. Parag took to Twitter to offer his thoughts on the matter. The Rajasthan Royals’ cricketer tweeted that Assam is a part of India just like any other state and added that these kinds of comparisons need to stop.

“Assam is very much in India as any other state. No hate to this man but these comparisons need to stop. Jai Hind. Joi Axom,” tweeted Riyan Parag.

And, Raghav Juyal also took to Instagram to issue a clarification. Juyal apologized for the way he introduced the girl and added that it was not his motive to hurt anybody. Adding that he does not like to go by the script every time, Juyal said that he believes in doing everything in the moment.

“I am sorry if you are hurt by my introduction. It was not mine or the channel’s motive to do so. Generally, shows have scripting. I don’t like to go much by the script. I do everything in the moment and capture it and then have fun. It comes with all honesty. I believe in that,” concluded Juyal.
