The 3-match ODI series between Australia and India will conclude on Wednesday where the two sides face off at the Canberra’s Manuka Oval. Australia, fresh of their first ODI series win in three years, will be hoping to finish with yet another win and take a lead in the ODI Super League table. But they will be missing the services of David Warner in the final ODI due to an injury. The Indian team will be hoping to earn a consolation win and avoid the follow-on in this process.

Here are the key stats and numbers ahead of the final game of the ODI series in Canberra:

1 – If Australia wins the final ODI, it will be the first time Australia would have whitewashed India in the ODI format. The only bilateral ODI series against Australia where India failed to win a game was during the 5-match ODI series at home in 1984. Australia won three matches during that series while another two games ended without a result.

3/3Steve Smith has scored a fifty in all the three ODI matches he played at the Manuka Oval. Smith scored 196 runs at an average of 98 in the three ODI innings at this venue with a best score of 73*. One the other hand, Aaron Finch struck two centuries across the four ODIs he played in Canberra scoring 273 runs at an average of 68.25.

5 – India has lost all the five ODI matches they played since beating Australia during the series-decider in Bangalore in January. India has not lost more than five consecutive ODI games since the beginning of 2007. India is also on a 7-match losing streak in the International cricket, which is also their biggest losing streak in almost 17 years.

6-0 – Australia has won all the six International matches they played at the Manuka Oval in Canberra including four ODI games. India, on the other hand, lost both the games they played at this venue during the ODI format – by 8 wickets vs SL in 2008 and by 25 runs vs AUS in 2020.

125.42 – India has conceded 125.42 runs at an average for picking the first wicket of opposition in the ODI format in 2020. This is the worst first wicket partnership average in a calendar year for a bowling team in ODI cricket. (Min: 5 ODIs)

India has not picked a wicket in the first ten overs of the opposition in their previous five ODI games. India has conceded a fifty-plus stand in all those matches and a century partnership in the previous three games.

148 – Number of wickets Mohammed Shami has picked up in his 79-match ODI career. He needs two more wickets to become the 3rd fastest player and the fastest Indian to 150 ODI wickets. Among Indians, only Ajit Agarkar (97) has got to 150 ODI wickets in less than 100 games.

11977 – Virat Kohli has scored 11977 runs in his ODI career where he has batted in 241 innings. The Indian captain needs 23 more runs to become the fastest player to 12000 runs in ODI cricket. The current record is on the name of Sachin Tendulkar who got there in his 300th ODI innings.
