The Australians are all set to travel to the country of Bangladesh after 11 long years to play a two-match Test series against the Tigers. The team has been practicing in Darwin in the form of an intrasquad match as they look forward to the Bangladesh challenge. the Australian team will be accompanied by at least 3 security professionals and a chef during their tour of Bangladesh. The news was confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on August 17 which was a Thursday.

According to the team list presented by the BCB, the Australian team will fly to Bangladesh with a squad of 18 officials and 14 players. The team is scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:40 pm today. The tour party includes security managers Sean Carroll, Francesco Dimasi and Robert Simmons along with chef Alatamash Iqbal.

The BCB was not surprized to see the security measures adopted by the Aussie team for the tour. The reason behind the same is that security was one of the primary issues of concern from the very beginning. However, a BCB official was surprised by the fact that the team is carrying a chef with them,

What the board said:

“We assume his role would be suggesting the cooks about the food preference of players in hotel and ground. It is not completely a new thing in Bangladesh though. Earlier, India team also bought a chef when they visited us,” said the official.

There have been some worrying news in the Australian camp recently when David Warner got injured during their practice match at Darwin. He was hit by a Josh Hazlewood delivery on his neck and had to be rushed off the field for treatment. However, the phase has passed and the vice captain confirmed that he is all fit and ready to take part in the Bangladesh tour.
