All the records and stats that David Warner created on his way to maiden triple hundred:
1 – David Warner became the first player to score a triple century in 78 Test matches hosted by the Adelaide Oval. The previous highest Test score at this venue was 299* by Sir Donald Bradman in the 1932 Test against South Africa.
1 – Warner became the first player to score a T20I hundred, 150+ in an ODI and a 200+ in a Test match; all at the same venue. Faf du Plessis is the only other player to have scored a century in all the three formats in international cricket at a venue. In fact, Warner is also only the 4th player to have scored a triple ton in FC, 150+ in List A and a T20I hundred at the same ground.
2 – Chris Gayle and David Warner are only the two players to have scored a Test triple, ODI 150+ and a T20I century. Warner has recorded all the three in 2019 itself. No player before Warner has even scored a 200 in Test cricket in the year where they scored an ODI 150+ and a T20I ton.
3 – Warner is only the 3rd Australian with multiple 250+ scores in the Test cricket. Sir Donald Bradman had five such scores while Michael Clarke also had two 250+ Test knocks.
335* – David Warner’s 335* is now the 2nd highest individual score in Test cricket for Australia. Matthew Hayden’s 380 against Zimbabwe in 2003 Perth Test is the only Test score for the Aussies which is higher than Warner’s 335*. Overall, Warner is only the 7th triple centurion in Test cricket for the Aussies.
335* – Warner’s 335* is also only the 2nd triple century in a day-night Test match. Azhar Ali scored an unbeaten 302 against West Indies in the 2016 Dubai Test in the first innings of the Test.
335* – The unbeaten 335 by Warner is also the highest individual score in a day-night first-class match. Dean Jones scored 324* while playing for Victoria v South Australia in the 1994/95 Sheffield Shield match.
365* – Gary Sobers’ unbeaten 365 in the 1958 Kingston Test is the highest individual score by any player against Pakistan. Warner’s 335-run knock in the 2nd Test match stands second on this list.
1084 – David Warner completed 1000 Test runs against Pakistan in 11 innings across only seven Test matches. His average of 108.4 is the 2nd highest for any player against an opponent in Test cricket (Min: 1000 runs). Wally Hammond averages 112.77 in this format against New Zealand.
