Australian players arrive in Chennai ahead of the 1st ODI

After playing out a nail-biting series against Bangladesh, Australia are once again ready to take on Virat Kohli and his men, this team in colored clothing. Steve Smith’s lost the highly competitive Test series against India 2-1 earlier this year, and they will look to clinch the limited overs series to take back some good memories before Christmas arrives.

A batch of Australian players arrived in Chennai, on Friday. Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Travis Head, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa, and Kane Richardson arrived from Australia via Singapore. Another group of players, including skipper Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner, would arrive in Chennai on Saturday morning from Bangladesh, where the team played in a two-Test series.

Australia’s limited over task

Many of the IPL stars– Nitish Rana, Washington Sundor and Rahul Tripathi will participate in the practice game. Former Indian cricketer Hemang Badani will be the coach of the Board’s President XI. Australia will look to start the tour on a winning note before moving on to the main encounters.

Richardson was added to the squad lately, after being replaced with pacer Josh Hazlewood, who sustained an injury during the Test match against Bangladesh. The visitors will participate in a practice match against the Board’s President XI on September 12.

Australia will play ODIs in Chennai (September 17), Kolkata (September 21), Indore (September 24), Bengaluru (September 28) and Nagpur (October 1) before a three-match T20I series that will be played in Ranchi (October 7), Guwahati (October 10) and Hyderabad (October 13).
