The Pakistan Cricket Board and their Bangladeshi counterparts [BCB] have finally reached a truce after a month of constant back-and-forth, regarding the possibility of the Tiger Nation’s tour of Pakistan. The two boards finally reached a consensus and the originally scheduled tour is set to go as planned but in two installments. ICC Chairman and former BCCI President acted as the facilitators between the two-member nations.

The tour which comprises 2 Tests, 3 T20Is and a stand-alone ODI has been split into three parts. The Asian Tigers will first travel to Pakistan for a three-match T20I series that will take place between January 24 to 27. The tourists will then return to the terror-ravaged nation for the 1st Test which will kickstart from February 07.

Post the Test match, all the Pakistani players will get involved with their respective franchises for the next edition of the Pakistan Super League. The franchise-based tournament will conclude on March 22. Bangladesh will then return to complete the third instalment of the tour where they’ll play a one-off One-day International on April 03 before the 2nd Test commences, two days later.

Two Test matches will be a part of World Test Championship

PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani said, “I am pleased that we have amicably achieved a resolution that is in the best interest of this great sport as well as both the proud cricket playing countries. I also want to thank ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar for the leadership he provided and ensured the sport continues to grow and thrive in the two countries,” as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Wasim Khan, PCB Cheif Executive said: “It is a win-win outcome for both the boards. I am glad that the uncertainty around the series is now over and we can start planning for the smooth delivery of the matches. Bangladesh will visit Pakistan thrice, which should give them the comfort that Pakistan is as safe and secure as any other cricket playing country. The split series across three venues will also provide opportunities to fans and followers to watch live their favourite players in action and support good cricket from either side,”

The two Test matches will be a part of the ongoing ICC Test championship, and Pakistan will hope they can grab 120 valuable points at the expense of Bangladesh.
