Bangladesh are scheduled to take on Pakistan for three T20 internationals and Two Test matches. The tour is currently put on hold as Bangladesh Cricket Board are reluctant to send their players to Pakistan. Nazmul Hasan, the Bangladesh Cricket Board President has expressed the concerns by the players and the coaching staff over touring Pakistan. They feel that it shall be a suffocating tour due to strong security measures. There will be a constant mind block in the players and coaching staff’s minds.

Nazmul Hasan also stated that they only want to play the T20 series and are ready to send their T20 squad for the same. They have also contacted PCB for the same and shall wait for their answer, so that they can proceed with government clearance.

Bangladesh Head Coach, Russell Domingo is ready to tour Pakistan if they get the proper clearance. The Bangladesh coaching staff consists of four South Africans- head coach Russell, batting consultant Neil McKenzie, fielding coach Ryan Cook and newly appointed physiotherapist Julian Calefato.

The other members are New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori who is a spin consultant, Indian analyst Shrinivas Chandrasekaran and strength and conditioning coach Mario Villavarayan from Sri Lanka. “If the team is given clearance to go, then I will go. If the team isn’t given clearance, then I definitely won’t go,’’ Domingo told reporters as quoted by CricFrenzy.

Domingo also confirmed that some members in the team management are not ready to travel to Pakistan, “I think some guys [of the team management] are not keen to go. But if we have to then I am going,’’ he said.  “I think we can only discuss the matter once the decision is made. We need to discuss with the cricket board and the board will decide what will happen next,” he added.

Both the boards PCB and BCB are in talks regarding the smooth conduct of this tour. While the PCB wants the full tour to take place in Pakistan, BCB wants only the T20 series to be played.
