Pakistan will commence their tour to Bangladesh with a three-match T20I series that will begin on 19th November 2021. The two sides will play 3 T20Is over a period of 4 days.
The Pakistan side will enter this series as the favourites after experiencing a good run in the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup. Babar Azam and his men won all their 5 Super 12 Group stage matches, and also broke their World Cup jinx against India, thrashing the ‘Men in Blue’ in their opening match of the Super 12 stages by 10 wickets.
However, Pakistan’s fairytale run in the tournament came to an end in the semifinal stages. The ‘Men in Green’ lost to Australia in the semifinal, and crashed out of the tournament.
On the other hand, Bangladesh endured an absolutely abysmal run in the Super 12 stages of the tournament. Mahmudullah and his boys lost all their 5 matches in the Super 12 stages and finished at the last place in the points table in Group 1.
Bangladesh will be itching to put their setback in the T20 World Cup behind them and start their campaign in the series against Pakistan with a win. Even though Pakistan will start as favourites, Bangladesh will be keen to put up a fight in their own backyard.
Pitch and Conditions
The pitch at the Shere Bangla Stadium will offer some turn for the spinners. The batters will have to be patient, and strike rotation will be the key. Batters can play the big shots once they get their eye in.
