The year 2020 shook the world in unimaginable ways. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic reduced the no of cricketing activities to a minimum, and those which happened took place inside a strict bio-secure bubble. Many countries couldn’t indulge in a single international series post worldwide lockdown in March 2020, and Bangladesh was one of them. The Bangladesh cricket team couldn’t play any cricket after March 2020 and are desperately waiting for cricket action to resume for them.
The nation also waited for the action as their star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was also set to mark his comeback after serving a year ban. He was banned by ICC for breaching the norms of ICC’s anti-corruption code. In the latest turn of events, Bangladesh’s full schedule for 2021 has been announced and the nation will get to play a good amount of international cricket in the year. Their first series in 2021 will kick off in January only against West Indies.
West Indies tour of Bangladesh:
January 22: Second ODI, Dhaka
January 25: Third ODI, Chattogram
February 3: First Test, Chattogram
February 11: Second Test, Dhaka
Bangladesh visits New Zealand in February-March.
March 13: First ODI, Dunedin
March 17: Second ODI, Christchurch
March 20: Third ODI, Wellington
March 23: First T20, Napier
March 26: Second T20, Auckland
March 28: Third T20, Hamilton
Asia Cup will be played, thereafter in June in Sri Lanka. After which, the nation will tour to Zimbabwe for locking horns with the hosts. It will include 2 Tests, 3 T20Is, and ODIs each.

In the months of October and November, the most high-profile T20 tournament that is T20 World Cup will be staged in India which will see the participation of most of the cricket-playing nations. Towards the end of the year 2021, Bangladesh would be up against Pakistan on their soil and the dates are yet to announce. Not even in Indian Premier League, many Bangladesh players are seen marking their names. Mustafizur Rahman was given an offer but he was denied NOC from BCB as they had a series scheduled against Sri Lanka, back then.
