Veteran all-rounder Dan Christian pulled off a flying catch in the 34th match of the Big Bash league 2021-22 between the Perch Scorchers and the Sydney Sixers. Christian was standing at the covers region and Ashton Turner, the Perth skipper had just come into the crease. Turner hit the delivery off Hayden Kerr above Christian’s head and the 38-year-old had to leap above in the air to get his hands while taking the catch in the second attempt.

Earlier in the day, Perth won the toss and their decision to bat first hasn’t served well so far with just 143 on the board for the loss of 8 wickets. Apart from Aaron Hardie’s 45, no other batter got going as Hayden Kerr put a stronghold with four wickets to his name. Christian ended up picking up two wickets as well in his brilliant four-over spell and here is what one of the famous Australian media accounts on Twitter has posted a tweet on the excellent catch.

Dan Christian’s mind-blowing catch

“Everything’s looking up for Dan Christian on the Gold Coast. What a catch!!. A BKT Golden Moment | #BBL11, ” cricket.com.au had tweeted relating to the catch

The Australian all-rounder is one of the experienced candidates in BBL and he does prove to be a great addition in T20 cricket. Christian’s catch was something extraordinary to jump so high and then to have kept his eyes on the ball still. It is certainly not the first time that Christian has left the fans in the stadium with awe and he is likely to keep the energy going. “Age is just a number” will be a statement that definitely suits the all-rounder.

Meanwhile, Sydney Sixers have lost two early wickets in their chase with Josh Phillipe and Jack Edwards dismissed already. This was expected to be an easy chase for Moises Henrique’s led side, however, there is still a lot of entertainment waiting in the coming BBL games but the same game was won by Perth Scorchers by 10 runs.
