The next edition of the Big Bash League is scheduled to be played in December-January. Ahead of the start of the tournament, the Sydney Sixers have re-signed James Vince for the side. Also, it is likely that if Vince gets recalled for the Ashes series this summer, he would miss the entire BBL season. The England batter was in splendid for the team during the Sixers’ title-winning campaign in 2020-21 as he was the second-highest run-getter as he chipped in 537 runs from 16 matches.

Alongside his opening partner Josh Phillippe, Vince had stood out for the team. The duo was just behind Alex Hales in the run-scoring charts. Vince is excited for yet another good season with the Sydney Sixers. The franchise has revealed that he did not accept a few offers from rival teams before committing himself to the Sydney Sixers.

He stated that he is proud to be a part of the team and also asserted that the environment created by head coach Greg Shipperd motivates the player to do their job.

James Vince recollects the winning moment of BBL 2020-21

“I don’t play for the personal accolades or awards, I play to be part of a winning team. What the Sixers have built on and off the field over the last few years is something really special and something I am proud to be part of. Shippy (head coach Greg Shipperd) creates an environment that we can all thrive in and we are all motivated to do our job for the team and our members and fans,” Vince was quoted as saying by Sportscafe.

Vince recounted the entire euphoria and setting of the finals of BBL 2020-21. He stated that it was an experience that he will never forget.

“To experience that final last season at the SCG, in what was our first trip back there all year, was something I’ll never forget. When the Scorchers dropped a catch the place erupted and it was the loudest noise I’ve ever heard on a cricket field. The fans were incredible. How could you not want to come back for more of that?” Vince added
