BCB coach under the scanner for allegedly sexually harassing a minor

A BCB appointed coach, Abu Samad Mithu, has allegedly been involved for sexually harassed a female minor on June 1. 20 days post the incident at Dinajpur District Sports Village., a show-cause notice from Bangladesh Dinajpur District Sports Association (DSA) was sent to the accused.
Along with Bangladesh Cricket Board, he also looks after the proper governance of the Prochesta Cricket Chakra cricket school. Abu Samad Mithu allegedly made an advance on the 15-year old cricketer while trying to tend an injury to the legs she picked up while practising in the nets of the Dinajpur district Gor-E-Shohid Boromath.
Looking at the incompetence of the members of Dinajpur District Sports Association after discussing the matter with them, the father of the victim approached the Deputy Commissioner of Dinajpur, Mir Khairul Alam on June 14. The Deputy Commissioner of Dinajpur is also President of the Dinajpur Dinajpur District Sports Association.
It was Mir Khairul Alam who was responsible for issuing the show-cause notice after media voiced the incident for the explicit act of Abu Samad Mithu. According to the notice, Abu Samad is supposed to reply to the notice within three days.
Reaction from the masses
However, when Xtratime tried to contact the coach over the phone, the accused dismissed any reports of him being issued any notice for his salacious act. This sparked further unrest within the masses and provoked further protest amongst rights groups in Bangladesh Dinajpur district. The mob demanded the exoneration from the Dinajpur District Sports Association. Also, Bangladesh Cricket Board while the Dinajpur Khelaghar Asor will also to hold a human chain in front of the DC office today protesting the incident.
Cricket is a hugely popular sport in the country and their global status is perennially increasing with impressive performances in each ICC events. BCB has done well to inculcate quality into the sport. Such incidents should be eradicated to empower women in the sport.
