Cricket South Africa (CSA) has finally come to the terms to launching their own T20 league after facing a lot of hurdles in the last 12 months. With the tournament set to get underway on November 9, there is a lot of uncertainty around its success which is why CSA has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to assist them for the smooth conduct of the T20 league.

BCCI runs one of the most professional and successful T20 leagues, Indian Premier League (IPL), in the world which entered in its new decade this year. Every year, the tournament is held according to the plan and the organisers have managed to cross the hurdles previously. They’ve also managed to shift the whole IPL overseas in 2009 to South Africa due to the general elections in India which prove that they are more than ready always.

CSA Chief Executive delighted

CSA’s Chief Executive Thabang Moroe has confirmed that the BCCI has obliged to their request and they will be assisting the board during the tournament. He highlighted the experience of their administrators and hoped that their guidance will make South Africa‘s T20 league one of the best.

“I am delighted to announce that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has accepted our invitation to make some of their senior administrators, who have extensive experience in running the Indian Premier League (IPL), available to assist with the smooth running of our tournament. Their experience will be invaluable and will assist in ensuring that the League is one of international standing,” Moroe was quoted as saying by InsideSport.

Meanwhile, Moroe, at a press conference in Cape Town, also informed that South African Broadcast Corporation (SABC) will be the exclusive broadcast partner for the league. The board must be hitting the straps very soon in its preparations for the tournament as only a little time is left for it to commence.
