The year 2013 turned out to be a curse in Indian fast-bowler S Sreesanth’s career. He got himself tangled in a spot-fixing scandal. He played for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and was found guilty for the horrendous crime which turned his career upside down. Subsequently, he was slapped with a life ban. However, the Kerala High Court lifted the ban and it irked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Following the decision, Sreesanth made a plea in order to play County Cricket in England. However, as per TOI the BCCI has opposed the plea. He was also given a clean chit by the Patiala House Court, but the BCCI has stuck to their strict disciplinary action against the tainted fast bowler.

The shambolic incident in Sreesanth’s career

Tripathi also said that Sreesanth had been found, being in touch with bookies through intermediaries. He was also given a clean chit by the Patiala House Court as well, but the BCCI has stuck to their strict disciplinary action against the tainted fast bowler. Meanwhile, the case is with the Delhi Police. He also vowed to make a return to the Indian team for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

Recently, the Supreme Court has asked the Delhi High Court to take a call on the appeal surrounding the discharge of Sreesanth along with Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila, who were also involved in the shambolic incident. The incident turned out to be one of the gloomiest times the Indian Premier League (IPL) has ever witnessed.

The incident has such a major impact that Rajasthan was handed a suspension of two years along with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The franchises didn’t take part in the 2016 and 2017 edition of the IPL and Gujarat Lions and the Rising Pune Supergiant replaced them.
