BCCI Secretary Jay Shah launches HAP Cup for specially-challenged cricketers

Jay Shah stated that the first step has been taken for the development of the ‘Divyang‘ players of the country.

The HAP Cup, which will be played by the specially-abled cricketers in India will be held from 28th December to 31st December 2021. The four-day tournament will be held in Haryana.

And, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jay Shah went and launched the HAP Cup. Also, a Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI) has been formed as well.

And, Jay Shah stated that the first step has been taken for the development of the ‘Divyang’ players of the country. Adding that a lot of effort needs to be put in to help the specially-abled people, Shah also declared that the BCCI will extend its support to promote this noble cause.

“History has been created. The first step has been taken and now a lot of work has to be done for the development of all Divyang players of the country. BCCI shall give all possible support for this cause,” said Shah at the launch of the tournament.

Also, the Secretary-General of the DCCI, Ravi Chauhan said that for more than a decade, the specially-abled people have struggled to get recognition. Adding that Jay Shah took this cause of developing the specially-abled community personally, Chauhan concluded by stating that all the Divyang players will be indebted to Shah for his wonderful initiative.

“For more than 10 years, all the organizations in their different ways have been struggling to get recognition from BCCI. But it was Jay Shah who really took this cause personally and removed all the obstacles and formed this committee. All Divyang players today and tomorrow shall be always indebted to Jay Shah for this initiative,” concluded Chauhan.
