'Ben Stokes ko bolo ki ab 6s maarna start kre' - A fan has a request for Ben Stokes; RR admin responds

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are having an underwhelming season in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). Despite having a dreamy start by winning the first two consecutive matches by a decent margin, Royals succumbed to pressure and are now languishing at the seventh position in the points table with just 4 wins from 11 fixtures.

RR is sitting on the edge of elimination with their playoff chances hanging by a thread. Though mathematically, the franchise still have an outside chance of making it to the top 4, it is extensively dependent on the performance of the other teams in the league. 

The main reason for the Royals’ poor run in the T20 extravaganza is the bad form of their key overseas batsmen. The bowling unit has been good thus far with Jofra Archer leading the pace attack. However, the batsmen especially the overseas players have been a big disappointment. Ben Stokes along with captain Steve Smith hasn’t been able to play their natural game and are struggling hard to middle the balls on the bat. 

Opening the innings, RR’s costliest pick, Stokes has only managed 110 runs off 103 balls he has faced. This is a below-par performance for a batsman who has 305 runs in 26 T20I at an average of 17.9 and strike rate of 134.4. The more surprising fact here is that Stokes hasn’t smashed even a single six from his bat thus far.

Fans want Ben Stokes to start hitting sixes 

This has definitely left the fans disappointed as they were hoping to see some quickfire innings from England’s all-rounder. RR is scheduled to face Mumbai Indians (MI) on October 25, Sunday at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Ahead of the game, a user requested the official Twitter handle of RR to tell Stokes to give a little happiness to the fans by hitting sixes. 

The Twitter user tweeted, “Dekh Bhai Job milne ki khushi toh mil ni rhi hai toh please Ben Stokes ko bolo ki ab 6s maarna start kre & hume thodi khushi aur mile is IPL se.”

Taking note of this, the RR admin accepted the request of the user and ensured that he will convey this message to Ben Stokes. RR replied, “Bolta hu bhai”
