After making an early exit from the squad during the Sri Lanka series, Ben Stokes was forced to blend into the crowd and teach people how to use the selfie feature on their smartphones. However, a loss in the first Test against Pakistan saw Stokes make a return into the scheme of things for the second Test.
He batted and bowled as he usually does before sustaining a calf injury while bowling in the second innings on Day 4. After delivering his second ball of the 22nd over, with Pakistan 68 for two, the Durham pace bowler pulled up with a right calf strain.
Stokes was making a return from a knee injury at the end of the first England v Sri Lanka Test match. However, the 25-year old hobbled off midway, meaning that the selectors would have to persist with James Vince. The England physiotherapist came onto the field but, after a few minutes’ treatment, escorted the 25-year-old off.
Although England was sans a few frontline bowlers following Moeen Ali’s moment of madness with a full-toss, they pulled through with the England pacers completing the job for the side. Ali, however, recovered from his latest ‘moonball’ incident by dismissing both Hafeez and Younis to leave Pakistan 102 for four.

The fourth Test saw the balance in power rest back with the Brits once again following their magnificent performance at Old Trafford. However, at one point, all of England, including Piers Morgan thought that England skipper Alastair Cook had taken it one step too far opting to bat instead of enforcing the follow-on. However, England eventually went on to claim a 330-run victory and drawing level 1-1.
