James Anderson, despite his reputation of being a calm fast bowler, sometimes doesn’t back way from taking on the opposition batsmen. He has been involved in a couple of sledging affairs and heated conversation in the past.
But, Anderson is usually not the one who provokes anyone upfront. But, surprisingly, we got to see his rare side of his cricketing personality when he exchanged confronted Pakistan No.9 batsmen Wahab Riaz not once but twice during the fourth day of the 2nd Test at Old Trafford.
The first time, Anderson, standing at gully, had a sort of serious chat with Riaz. He was seen talking continuously with a serious look on his face. Riaz, however, played down the event and seemed unaffected. He quietly laughed away the moment and resumed batting.
But, the England bowling spearhead was not done. After coming to bowl, the swing bowling ace exchanged more word with Riaz who was now standing at the non-striker’s end. The incident did not get blown up and everything was pretty good.
