The cricketing fraternity has been pouring wishes in large numbers ever since one of the greatest pacers of all time, Dale Steyn, drew the curtain on his international career. Steyn, who is deemed as one of the most celebrated pacers of South Africa, bid adieu to the longest format of the game in 2019 itself. However, he kept himself open for the limited-over games and finally announced retirement on August 31, 2021.

Various cricketers have flooded him with congratulatory messages and referred to him as the greatest of all time. In the latest turn of events, former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson joined the bandwagon and said, Steyn, has to be the best bowler he faced in his entire career. Watson even lauded the Protea pacer for being super kind outside the field.

“Have to say, @DaleSteyn62 was consistently the best bowler I faced throughout my career. I feel like he never bowled me a bad ball. Such a fierce competitor on the field, but such a sweet and super kind person off it. Enjoy the fruits of retirement. You deserve it mate,” tweeted Watson.

Though Steyn’s career remained marred with various injuries, he left no stone unturned to shine at the highest level and picked 699 international wickets in his sparkling career of 17 years.
