Bharath Chipli to lead Bijapur Bulls in KPL 2017

Veteran Karnataka batsman Bharath Chipli has been named as the captain of the Bijapur Bulls franchise for the upcoming edition of the Karnataka Premier League. KPL 2017 is expected to be a bigger and better edition than the previous ones. The teams are gearing up for the T20 action that kicks off in a month. Chipli has been around for quite a long time now and that is one of the reasons why the owners of the Bijapur Bulls showed faith in him while naming him the captain of the side.

Last year, they were led by veteran Indian batsman Robin Uthappa. With Uthappa plying his trade for another franchise this year, Bharath Chipli is arguably the most experienced face in the squad. As per the quotes in MyKhel.com, Chipli expressed his excitement for the tournament. He remarked that it would be great to lead a bunch of young and exciting players this season. He is looking forward to having a great season with the Bijapur Bulls.

Meanwhile, the owners of the franchise have also oozed confidence while naming him the captan. They noted that his immense experience in domestic circuit will benefit the younger lot in the squad. The owner went on to quote that Chipli is the most suited player in the squad to lead the Bijapur Bulls this year.

“Bharath Chipli has been a prominent figure in the domestic circuit for a considerable period of time and brings a wealth of local knowledge. Having played with and groomed the players over the years, he is well versed with their abilities and is best suited to lead the team’s campaign this year,” quoted Kiran Kattimani, owner of Bijapur Bulls
