India fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar and his wife were caught in the mishap in Meerut when the duo was on its way to Noida on Monday. Tension has gripped in several states including Uttar Pradesh after Dalit outfits called for Bharat Bandh on April 2 against the Supreme Court order on SC/ST Atrocities Act. The cricketer was expected to join Sunrisers Hyderabad squad on the same day but missed his flight due to the violent acts in the city. However, he and his wife as they found Gurudwara at the right time for shelter.

Bhuvi was retained by SRH in the player retention event earlier this year in January and the franchise built the squad around him during the auction. He is one of the best bowlers in India currently after doing well sensationally well in recent South Africa with both bat and ball. His ability to swing the ball and then come back at the death to nail his yorkers perfectly makes him the best in the business.

What happened to the duo?

However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and his wife Nupur Nagar found shelter at the right time as they went to the nearby Gurudwara but missed their flight. The duo is safe now and they left the place at 3 PM after spending 3 hours there. Meanwhile, the local resident Harvinder Singh Parmar took the couple to his home and took care of them properly before taking them to Gurudwara. Brijpal Singh, the member of Gurudwara committee, informed Amarujala that Bhuvi and his wife reached there around 12 PM.

They prayed God during their stay and the adorable couple was also honoured by them. Bhuvneshwar, however, was thankful of Sikh Community for their help during the tough times in Hapur according to Brijpal Singh.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on April 9 against Rajasthan Royals.
