Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has put forth his predictions for Match No.34 of the 2021 IPL between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians on Thursday, September 23 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The veteran, who himself played for KKR during his heydays, said that the spinners are likely to take in excess of three wickets in the encounter.

Varun Chakravarthy, Rahul Chahar, Sunil Narine and Krunal Pandya are the four frontline spinners from both teams. Chakravarthy will be going into the game after his match-winning performance over the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the same venue.

Chahar hasn’t flattered to deceive either. As per Chopra, the spinners won’t return empty-handed from the encounter in Abu Dhabi. “Spinners to take three plus wickets,” Chopra was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel.

Aakash Chopra puts forth his opinion

Chopra was of the opinion that the upcoming game will witness more than four sixes since both teams have power-hitters in the form of Andre Russell, Hardik Pandya and others. “Four plus sixes in the match,” he stated.

Chopra also felt that whoever comes to bat at No.4 will score in excess of 20 runs for their teams. “Both teams’ No,4 batter to score 20 plus runs. On one side, Suryakumar Yadav will come. But from KKR, anyone from Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan or Nitish Rana can come,” Chopra mentioned.

Last, but not the least, Chopra backed MI to come out trumps keeping in mind Mumbai’s dominance over the Knights in the last few seasons. “Mumbai to win the match,” Chopra added. In their last 13 meetings, KKR have won only once back in 2019.

The Knights, however, must be high on confidence after beating the RCB by nine wickets. As far as MI are concerned, they are hanging in the middle of the points table in the ongoing edition of the T20 league in the UAE.

MI lost their previous game to Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Both Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya missed out due to certain reasons and their absence was well and truly felt in their ranks.
