The time that a cricket team takes to complete the stipulated quota of overs has hogged the limelight on several occasions. Whether it is Test match cricket or any of the limited-overs forms of the game, the over rate of teams has been a matter of scrutiny.

And now, former Australian cricketer Brad Hodge has come up with a solution to make sure that all the teams can finish their overs on time. Hodge reckons that the Big Bash League should adopt a countdown per ball method, just like they do in the game of Tennis.

Hodge also added that Cricket Australia displayed 40 seconds per ball on the scoreboard as well. Hodge concluded his tweet by asking the fans for their thoughts on this matter.

“After a quick discussion, BBL should adopt a countdown clock per ball to speed up play like tennis. Cricket Australia displayed on the scoreboard 40 seconds per ball? Thoughts,” tweeted Hodge.
