The Indian women’s team became the first side in the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia to qualify for the semi-finals when on Thursday, they beat New Zealand by just four runs in their third game. The Women in Blue have so far maintained an all-win record in the tournament and all of them have come batting first. India beat hosts and defending champions Australia by 17 runs in the opening game and then defeated Bangladesh by 18 runs in the second outing.

One striking event before the game between India and New Zealand at the Junction Oval in Melbourne was the Twitter video post shared by Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan. It showed Indian batswoman Jemimah Rodrigues dancing with one of the “off-duty” security guards, a female one, inside the pavilion.

The video was originally posted on the social media platform by the ICC and it was captioned, “Yes, @JemiRodrigues! Busting moves with an off-duty security guard at the #T20WorldCup”

In his caption, the 29-year-old actor said, “My favourite cricketer aces #HaanMainGalat !! Bring the cup home Jemi. And by popular demand also bring Security Ji to bollywood.” As the two women danced, two elderly men were seen watching their moves in amusement from behind. Aaryan shared the video all the more since the song the duo danced to — “Haan Main Galat” — is from the actor’s latest release “Love Aaj Kal”.

The 19-year-old Jemimah made her international debut in March 2018 and has become a key member of the national side since then. With the bat, she has had a quiet World Cup so far with the scores of 26 against Australia, 34 against Bangladesh and 10 against New Zealand.

In the 42 T20Is she has played so far, she has made 915 runs at a strike rate of 111 plus and has made six fifties. She has also played 16 ODIs in which she has made around 370 runs with three half-centuries.

India play Sri Lanka in their final group game
