Former England cricket legend Kevin Pietersen has opined that India and Pakistan should face each other every year in 3 T20I matches at a neutral venue.

Pietersen added that these 3 matches can be played over a five-day period with a 15-man squad, and the winner can take home a sum of $15 Million. The 41-year-old also stated that all the countries and broadcasters will queue up for these matches every year.

“IDEA: India should play PAK every year in 3 T20s at a neutral venue over a 5-day period! 15-man squads, $15M purse for the winning team! Cities/countries/broadcasters would queue up to have that week every single year!,” tweeted Kevin Pietersen.

Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets in their opening match of the 2021 T20 World Cup

The Pakistan cricket team created history and beat the Virat Kohli-led Indian side with 10 wickets to spare at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on 24th October 2021. This is the first time ever that Pakistan has managed to beat India in World Cup cricket (both ODIs and T20Is combined).

Batting first, the Indian cricket team posted a total of 151/7 on the board, and the two men who helped India to go past the 150-run mark were Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant. While Kohli scored 57 off 49 deliveries, Pant scored a 30-ball 39.

Shaheen Afridi rattled the Indian batsmen with some superb bowling. The 21-year-old scalped a three-wicket haul in his quota of 4 overs and gave away 31 runs in the process.

In reply, the Pakistan openers, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan stepped up to the task and demolished the Indian bowling attack. The Virat Kohli-led side failed to scalp even a single wicket with the ball, as Pakistan romped past the target with ease, winning the match with 10 wickets and 13 balls to spare.

While Rizwan scored a murderous 79* at an excellent strike rate of 143.64, Babar Azam oozed class out in the middle and scored a stroke-filled 68* off 52 deliveries.
