CA officials satisfied with the ULAB ground for practise match

The Cricket Australia (CA) representatives have given a green signal and expressed their satisfaction after inspecting the campus field of Liberal Arts (ULAB), the venue for the practise game in Bangladesh. Heavy showers and flood have hit the nation hard and a lot of people have been adversely affected by the same. The Australian team will arrive in the subcontinent tomorrow to take part in the Test series.

The team of representatives visited the ULAB ground which is situated in the Ramchandrapur adjacent to city protection damn near Mohammadpur. The venue for the practise match was earlier affected by water clogging because of persistent rainfall. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had a meeting with the CA officials and assured a high level security for the visiting team.

Mehedi Hasan is optimistic

Bangladesh is eager to get things underway as this will provide them a massive opportunity to have a shot at the giant side. Spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz said, “Playing against Australia is a big scope for me. It would surely feel great to play against them and I am hoping to do something good. Shakib Al Hasan and Taijul Islam are there and also the other senior players who are capable of playing their best against Aussies and our team will end up doing something good,”.

“Today was my first practice with the team, I’ve geared up my bowling and batting. Hopefully, within the next 10-12 days I’ll totally prepare myself,” he added.

In the home series against England, Miraz scalped 19 wickets and 7 of them in his first Test match. The last time Australia visited Bangladesh was in the year 2015 for a 3-match ODI series. The yellow brigade comfortably wrapped the series but times have changed and the Tigers have come a long way. They have had a memorable last couple of years in all the three formats of the game and Steve Smith’s men will have to perform really well to avoid an embarrassing shut down.
