The 2020 CPL final will be played between the league’s most successful side Trinbago Knight Riders and league’s worst team, St Lucia Zouks. Despite their poor history in CPL, the St Lucia franchise, led by Daren Sammy, made it to the final for the first time. Their strategy of heavy spin usage on slower tracks this year fetched them good results. On the other hand, Trinbago team have won each of the 11 matches they played in the tournament and will be eager to make it 12 in a row on Thursday.
Here are some of key stats and numbers ahead of the CPL 2020 final between Trinidad and St Lucia:

If they win the final on Thursday, they will break the record for most consecutive CPL victories which is currently held by Guyana Amazon Warriors with 11 matches in 2019 edition. The Knight Riders have won each of their last 8 matches at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium which will be hosting the final.
3/3 – The Trinidad franchise has won all the three finals they were part of in the CPL thus far – 2015, 2017 and 2018. If TKR wins the final on Thursday, they will have CPL titles twice the number of the next best (2 each for Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Tridents).

Out of those ten matches, Trinbago won nine of them while St Lucia’s home fixture last year ended in a washout. Overall, TKR has won on 12 occasions in 16 meetings against the Zouks who won only two games with another two ending without a result.
